About the event
Mom & Baby Wellness Clinic
Hosted by Nurses With Purpose
Join us for a relaxed and supportive Mom & Baby Wellness Clinic, specifically designed for families of children with Down syndrome.
This event gives parents the opportunity to have their baby’s health and development checked while also connecting with other parents in a welcoming environment.
How the Clinic Will Work
Appointments will be scheduled in 15-minute booking slots to ensure that each family receives focused attention.
After booking your slot, you will receive your confirmed time via WhatsApp.
During your appointment, our nurses will perform a wellness check for both baby and mom.
Baby Health Check
Our nurses will follow principles from the T21 Research Foundation together with the CDC Down Syndrome growth charts to monitor your baby’s growth and development.
Checks may include:
• Weight and growth tracking
• Development discussion
• Occupational therapy considerations
• Physiotherapy development markers
• Hearing checks and referrals if needed
• Eye health considerations
• Screening for heart-related concern
If any concerns are identified, the nurses can provide guidance and referrals for further care.
Mom Wellness Check
We also believe that caring for mom is just as important.
During your visit, nurses may:
• Check blood pressure
• Discuss post-partum wellbeing
• Assess nutritional needs
• Recommend and provide supplements for mom (depending on availability)
Baby Health Files
If your child already has a Brave Resource file, please bring it with you.
If you do not have one:
• You can message us to receive the digital version, or
• Printed files will be available for purchase on the day.
These files help parents track their child’s development and important medical information.
Special Parent Talk
During the event we will also have an informal discussion session led by a mom who has done extensive research on speech development and prompting strategies for children with Down syndrome.
This will be a relaxed conversation where parents can:
• Listen
• Ask questions
• Share experiences
While the children play, we will gather together for this supportive parent chat.
Everyone attending the clinic is welcome to join.
A Relaxed and Supportive Space
This clinic is designed to be informal, welcoming, and community-focused.
Parents can connect, children can play, and we can support one another while ensuring our little ones are growing well.
